Each member of our board of directors were selected because of their expertise, passion for change, and proven dedication to advancing the lives of underserved communities.

We sought individuals who not only bring a wealth of professional experience in areas such as education, healthcare, and economic development, but also share our deep belief in the potential of every person to succeed when given the right resources and support. Our board members embody the values at the core of our mission.

With their leadership, we are confident in our ability to drive effective and lasting change, ensuring that our mission is not just aspirational but truly impactful.

Anita Lee

Anita has over 30 years of experience in public health and health facility administration, with a focus on health equity and access. She has held senior leadership roles and consulting positions to improve operational efficiencies in community health centers nationwide. In 2001, Anita founded the Salud A Su Alcance Health Access Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital, launching a Diabetes Management Program and collaborating on VigiLens, a software that reduced avoidable ER visits. She also helped low-income patients access free medications from pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Anita is the founder of Twin Weavers, a health tech startup. She also serves as CEO of ALMS Healthcare Management, offering strategic consulting, and as President of KFL, Inc., a nonprofit focused on addressing disparities in health, education, and economics for underrepresented communities.

In 2005, she co-founded NYCRx, which enabled NYC health centers to provide low-cost medications through the 340B program. As the inaugural executive director of PAGNY Health and Research Foundation, she helped secure $3 million in funding for physician researchers.

Anita is a Registered Pharmacist and holds a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University.

Ulysses Kilgore

In 1982, Ulysses became President and CEO of the Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC), where he led its growth into a key provider of disease prevention and treatment services in Central Brooklyn. His leadership emphasized empowering patients to take responsibility for their mental, spiritual, and physical health. One of his proudest achievements was the Center’s Free Diabetes Self-Management Program, which helped participants avoid amputations and vision loss through education, diet, and exercise.

In 2007, BSFHC was one of only two healthcare organizations featured in an NBC documentary on diabetes. Ulysses also oversaw the construction of a 38,000-square-foot eco-friendly health center.

After retiring in 2010, Ulysses volunteered at a local high school and is now involved in SUMMIT, a holistic development initiative. He views artists as vital to the healing process and is passionate about offering career opportunities through his work.

Ulysses holds an MBA from Long Island University and a B.S. from Lincoln University (MO). A former U.S. Army officer, he served in South Korea, West Germany, and the U.S. His professional experience includes roles at Sydenham Hospital, Pfizer, and Brooklyn Union Gas. He also served as President of the Community Health Care Association of New York State from 1995 to 1996.

He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the North American Vegetarian Society and serves on the boards of the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium and Healthy Living World.

Wayne Fleischman

Mr. Fleischman is an experienced Pharmacy Benefit Consultant, advising clients on cost management strategies, PBM compliance, and improving benefit agreements. He specializes in both Traditional and Pass-Through pricing models, helping clients reduce costs through clinical, benefit, and technology changes.

In 2005, he co-founded Broadreach Medical Resources (BMR), a Prescription Benefit Administrator for self-insured clients, serving as COO for 11 years. Prior to that, he managed a $20 million self-insured trust fund, cutting claim costs and achieving a surplus by implementing Managed Care Products.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Fleischman held leadership roles at Kessler Rehabilitation Hospital and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he served as VP of Labor Accounts and VP of National Accounts.

Mr. Fleischman received his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Master’s in Business Administration from the Stern School of Business, New York University. He is also an avid golfer.
